Jon Goldman Associates has entered into an agreement with Fairchild Semiconductor to upgrade the Goldman System data capture, process, and analysis software for use on Fairchild's Thermco TMX diffusion furnaces. The system is a hardware and software tool that enables process data to be captured and archived. The upgrade, including the ProcessAlert module, is easy to use and has a real-time notification system. ProcessAlert sends e-mail messages or pages when statistical process control rule violations occur. It is programmed to send alerts according to shifts or assigned schedules, providing an alphanumeric message about which tool is involved, the time and exact location of the excursion, and the nature of the problem. It helps maintain high process visibility, achieves tight process parameter control, predicts possible equipment failure, enables the effective use of scheduled downtime, and aids in diagnoses of equipment failures. Information: 714/283-5889.

IPC Fab Automation has teamed with Cyberfab to add an e-diagnostics capability to IPC's SCM Box. The partners have initially demonstrated the ability to provide secure access to IPC's solutions and have developed an option for sending equipment data to PDAs. The companies will focus the efforts of their joint-development program on enhancing data access control and security, even for wireless networks. Information: +49 9471 80980.
