DISPLAY WORKS 2000
Meeting targets new audience
USDC will host a new conference next year targeted at the sellers, buyers, and users of information displays. The Display Applications Conference will be held February 13 at the San Jose Convention Center in conjunction with Display Works 2000. The conference will focus on applications seminars for specific industries. USDC wants to attract to the conference companies that design products incorporating FPDs, corporate regional sales forces, manufacturers reps, distributors, and value-added resellers. The consortium noted that a commissioned market study identified a $1.5-billion market in products unrelated to either desktop or portable computers. The conference is aimed at helping the designers and manufacturers of these non-PC products. They include devices for entertainment, communications, transportation, and medical applications. USDC expects to attract a crossover audience from Display Works, which focuses on display manufacturing. Information on Display Works 2000 can be found on the USDC Web site at http://www.usdc.org or by calling 408/277-2400. The contact for conference information is Mark Goldfarb, 212/460-9700; fax, 212/460-5460.
